The dress worn by Marilyn Monroe in The Seven Year Itch is probably one of the most famous and instantly recognizable dresses in history both in film and fashion. “I wondered what could I do with this most beautiful girl that Marilyn was to play to make her look clean, talcum-powdered, and adorable” said costume designer William Travilla of the idea behind his iconic creation. It’s going up for sale in a few weeks so it could be yours if you happen to have a million or so lying around, although I really hope this ends up in a museum for everyone to enjoy.
